Tubby's back and better than ever!

We have now had Tubby for fives months. He is ten months old!
Tubby has changed a lot since he was a baby. He now likes to walk around inside the house and outside. Tubby does not have a cage any more! He doesn't need it.

We are teaching Tubby how to walk up the stairs, but he can only make it up to the third step. : )
I'm hoping when he is older he can walk all the way to my bed room and snuggle with me at night.

"Oink! Oink!"

Do you notice how much Tubby has grown?

Do you have a pet that's changed?

A trip to the farm

One hot, sunny Saturday, my dad took me to a barn. We saw playful goats and hungry pigs.

When we first arrived, the goats immediately charged towards us like a bullet, expecting we had food to feed them. I thought they were going to knock us down, but instead they surround us. The goats adored attention, but...

The pigs ran away even though I was seven feet away from them. I started to get irritated that they ran away from me, but that all changed when a little white pig decided to come near me. I started scratching him and he tipped over! That's when an animal lays down on their side. He was  the same size as Tubby. Some pigs were the size of baseballs, and others were the size of me!

I cherished the prodigious day with my dad.

Have you ever been to a barn?

What animals did you see?

Elkhart Lake!

Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin was a blast!

This summer, I spent five weeks in a small town, population 967, called Elkhart Lake, located in Wisconsin.

I swam a lot because there are two pools and a refreshing spring fed lake in the resort. In the vast lake, we enjoy doing watersports. Watersports is where you can tube, wakeboard, and water ski.
I have been coming here for eight years now, so I have tried all of the wet sports.

In 2006, we bought a cozy condo in the Grand Victorian,
and have been staying there ever since.

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so we need somewhere to eat. That's where Off The Rail comes in handy. My dad and I treasure biking to Off The Rail, and we order a delicious panni with ham and cheese.

What did you do this summer?
Where did you stay?

Tubby!

                                                                    It's Tubby again!
Tubby likes to wander along the kitchen floor searching for food. Tubby's hobbies are eating, sleeping, and trying to get  out of his cage. In the picture below, Tubby is looking at the camera because he thinks it is food!
Photo

During the middle of the day, we give Tubby snacks. For example, we would feed him nuts or rice. Tubby vigorously devours food out of my hand, and it always tickles to feel his wet snout rub against me.

Tubby is getting so big that I feel like he has drunk a growing potion. When my family and I first got him in Maui, Hawaii, he was only five months old. Now he's eight months old!

How long did we have Tubby for?
                                Isn't Tubby adorable?

Wild Walnut Park

Over the weekend my family went to park called Wild Walnut Park.

A sign there said that Wild Walnut Park provides food, shelter, nesting, and hiding places for birds, reptiles, amphibians, mammals and insects. These trees are oak trees, Native Americans used oak tree branches for utensils, cradle boards and fire wood. They played games with acorns, leached and ground as bait in traps. Spanish explorers cut oak trees to build houses, barns, and fences.

Wow! Look at the tree! Notice the bright sunlight coming through the green leaves. My brother, Jake, and I climbed on the branches, and we had a wonderful time. We even pretended that we were in the Olympics doing gymnastics on the balance beam. : )

Have you ever been to Wild Walnut Park, if not, what outdoor parks have you gone to?

Penelopy

On a hot day, my brother, Jake, noticed a nest in our back yard! Soon we saw a bird in that nest. We named her Penelopy. My mom thought she was a dove. She had big beautiful eyes, black spots on her wings, and a strip of blue running down her back.

A few weeks later, I spotted two other birds in the nest. How do you think they got there? Do you think they are her babies?

When I went outside to check on Penelopy, she wasn't there and neither were the two birds, but I saw somthing else that took my breath away.

AN EGG!

Sadly, later in the week we couldn't find the egg, Penelopy, or the two birds. :(  Maybe a preditor ate the egg; maybe it hatched and flew away, or maybe Penelopy took it somewhere. I didn't know because there was no egg shell to be seen or found.

Have you ever experianced something like this?
Where did the two other birds come from?
What do you think happend to the egg?

Spectacular Spring Haikus

Today is a spectacular day in Spring!

Spring is the time when flowers start to bloom and when a mama bird's eggs hatch. In Los Angeles where I live,  the temperature is seventy to eighty degrees. Where is it like where you live? I love to go outside and play all kinds of games! For example, I play tether ball, baseball, and football with my two brothers. What do you do during your springtime?

It's definitely springtime with all the colorful flowers and chirping birds. In our front yard, we have all different kinds of flowers!
                                                                  Red, white, pink roses
Sun shining bright in the sky
                                                                  Fabulous flowers.

                                                        After winter comes flowers
                                                               Magnificent sight!

Can anyone think of a Haiku to type for the last two pictures?

Do you get any flowers during your springtime, if so what?

Lord Tubbington!

We had two unique pets, but  now we have a tiny surprise!

                                                          Lord Tubbington!

This is Lord Tubbington, but you can call him Tubby for short. Tubby is our baby Vietnamese pot belly pig. We found him in Hawaii over spring break, but we thought he was so adorable that we got him shipped back to Los Angeles! Now he has a peaceful house with a bed, pillows, and a blanket.

Tubby loves to eat anything that he can find. This is him eating a warm dish of brown rice, almond milk, and organic vegetables. "Yum!"

If you could get any pet in the world, what would it be?
What would you feed your dream pet?

I would want a pony or a unicorn!
I would feed them rainbow marshmellows!
                                          :-)

Passover

Passover is a Jewish Holiday; it celebrates the freeing of the Jewish people from Egypt. It is a very important holiday. Imagine, at one time Jewish people were enslaved and forced to live a life of misery. However,  with God's direction, Mosses freed the Jews to become the wonderful people that they are.

I celebrated passover on March 26 at my Grandma's house. On Passover, I got to see my cousins, my aunt and uncle, my grandma, and I got to spend time with my family.

I got to read the four questions! The four questions are: Why is it that on all other nights during the year we eat either bread or matzoh, but on this night we eat only matzoh? Why is it that on all other nights we eat all kinds of herbs, but on this night we eat only bitter herbs? Why is it that on all other nights we do not dip our herbs even once, but on this night we dip them twice?  Why is it that on all other nights we eat either sitting or reclining, but on this night we eat in a reclining position?

This is  matzoh. We eat  matzoh on Passover because we do not eat leaven bread. When the Jews were in the desert they could not bake bread, so now we eat unleaven bread to symbolize the bread we ate in the desert.

On Passover you dip the parsly in the salt water to represent tears from our plite.

This is a coconut macaroon. It is a yummy pastry to eat on Passover.

                               Do you celebrate Passover?

What's your favorite Holiday and why?

Can you answer any of the four questions?

Introducing Magic

I was inspired by Mallory's post on Introducing Pengy and on Purim Fun With Pengy to write this post.

This is Magic, and she loves fashion more than anything in the world!
Especially her rainbow scarf and her black and white hat. She has a strip of pink crawling down her back, and her fur is like a purple blanket covering her.

When I leave my room to go to school or even go downstairs, I leave Magic on my bed with all my other stuffed animals lying  on my warm, cozy quilt.

I'm pretty sure that when I'm gone, Magic will walk the runway with all my other stuffed animals. With the audience shooting pictures with their cameras.
Click!  Click!  Click!

                                                              Magic's rocking that hat!

Do you have any stuffed animals?

If so, how many do you have? Who is your Magic?

What do you think Magic should wear at her next fashion show?

A Visitor

Hi; it's Mr. Biggles, again. But this time, he's in our house!

: D

On the weekend, my family and I decided to let Mr. Biggles in the house.
( I'm pretty sure there are not alot of California Desert Tortoises hanging around people's homes in Los Angeles!)

We fed him lettuce and broccoli, so he wouldn't become frightened by his new surroundings.
Mr Biggles has a hardy appetite. He was hibernating for a month, so he is eating everything in sight that is green. (Make sure you never wear green at my house!)

:D

Oh, look! Mr. Biggles has a friend with a pink shell. I named her Mrs. Biggles!

Your all invited to the wedding, but remember, don't wear GREEN!

He wanders around the house, while looking around.
                                                          (looking for Mrs. Biggles)

What do you think Mr. Biggles is thinking when he is in our house??

Do you want to come to the wedding?

Murphy

Over the long weekend, our friends were going to Iowa, so they asked us if we can watch their black and white bunny Murphy. (Mer-fee)

Murphy sleeps in a cage in our garage. In case he's scared, there is a wooden box with a hole in it.
(you can see it in the picture) He also has a plasic litter box that he likes to think is a bed. (you can't see it in the picture)

Murphy loves going into tight places like under tables, between pillows, and in your lap.
Isn't he adorable?

What I enjoy about Murphy is that you can carry him around. If you put him in a room, he'll stay in that room!

If you don't have a bunny, would you want to buy one?
Do you have a bunny, if so, what's it's name?

Mr. Biggles

Mr. Biggles is my unusual pet. He is a rescue desert tortoise.

Mr. Biggles will come out when it's sunny and when its cold, he will sleep all day.

Mr. Biggles ia a very healthy eater. He eats lettuce, tomatoes, leaves, and almost any natural green
plant. He doesn't need much water. If he gets thisty, he drinks water from the natural envioment.

Does anyone know any facts about Tortoises?
Are you a healthy eater like Mr. Biggles?
Would you like a tortoise as a pet?

Welcome

                        Welcome to my new blog!

My name is Abbey, and I hope you have a great experience reading my blog. I enjoy having this artistry because this is an amazing opportunity to  contribute to conversations, view and display pictures, and make new global friends.

I have many hobbies. Playing the piano is one of my favorites. I have mastered the beginner version of Fur Elise by Beethoven, and I am now working on Yankee Doodle.

Art is a passion of mine. I like to draw portraits of people and animals. In addition, I enjoy sculpting. I've created ceramic bowls, colorful vases, and an orange statue seen below. I named her Lilly.
